Greetings Washington Friends;
My name is Kirk Stephens. I am webmaster for the Jackson County (NC)
Genealogical Society. I wanted to share a couple of items with you
regarding some SURNAMES that we have in common.
Cyndi's List of Genealogy Sites - Washington,
This is not a last nor a least ... it is a mailing list for you Norwegians at heart...
the address for subscribing is NORWAY-L-request@rootsweb.com ... you leave the subject blank and in the
main text box put subscribe ... this is a techno thing... you got to do it this way ... expect 50 Norwegian type emails
a day.
As you probably know, many families from Jackson county traveled to your
WA counties around the turn of the century. The cemeteries of Jackson County
are filled with names that are common in your counties. Most folks around
here consider areas like Darrington, Sedro-Wooley, Concrete, etc to be
Western Jackson County
Anyway, I wanted to let you know that one of our local historians has
written an article about the migration of Jackson county families. Your
counties are mentioned and I have created links to your pages.
Our Society is well represented in your area and I'd very much like for
us (as webmasters and GenWeb coordinators) to establish a relationship
between our counties. I'm open to ideas and suggestions about how we could work
together.
